THE BLACK FOLKS in Saint Louis, Missouri are so heartbroken about the killing of 18-year -old Mike Brown, who was shot multiple times while in the process of being arrested by a St. Louis cop, that they decided to start a “fire sale” and money free gift shopping by rioting, looting and burning dozens of stores in that area. Well, any excuse, I guess, is ok if you have set your sights on a 52inch flat screen that was in a window.  Those folks, alot of whom  look like straight up thugs, are so torn up inside over that black kid’s death that people started protesting at the St. Louis police station .
IN TODAY’S CULTURE OF VIOLENCE AND MURDERS IN black communities in this country, I must admit, I have become almost apathetic because in black neighborhoods, the ongoing “blackacide” aka blacks killing blacks, is so overwhelmingly alarming and depressing that I just refuse to get bent out of shape.  I will assume that Brown was unlawfully gunned down and when the investigation, etc. runs its course, the cop will be duly sentenced by a hard nose judge.  But even after they stop rioting and Brown makes his home-going journey….you know what is not going to change?

BLACKS KILLING BLACKS IN THIS COUNTRY!  It has been reported that since Trayvon Martin was killed in Florida, over 11,000 murders have occurred by blacks killing…guess who?   BLACKS!  For some unexplained reason, it seems like some blacks think that only another black has the right to kill one of us! How dare a white cop come along and shoot one of our finest teens?

THE PROTESTERS ARE SCREAMING “Stop the Killer Cops” and  the usual, “NO Justice No peace”!   We all know that there are good cops and bad cops, and the bad ones definitely need to be sorted out and kicked off the police force.  But, one thing is for sure, if you are out in these streets and you are assaulted, robbed or attacked, the first person you want to see and call for is a policeman.   We are so quick to want to march and protest when one of us is killed  by a white person either intentionally or by mistake, but an honor student in Chi Town, who was preparing to attend Northwestern University, was recently shot down on 95th street, most likely by a thug who thinks 4 plus 4 equals 10, and it did not cause a riot in Chicago and you barely heard about that beautiful young man’s death!  IT IS LIKE YOU ARE NOT REALLY DEAD OR SIGNIFICANT UNTIL A WHITE MAN KILLS YOU! THEN IT BECOMES A REASON TO RIOT AND GO SHOPPING FOR FREE STUFF!
PERSONALLY,  I would appreciate it if parents would just make their kids obey the curfew and be in the house before the street lights come on…but they can’t even do that right

IF WE DON’T honor and care for each other, why should others care?  I know the answer is more jobs,  education, housing, etc. But an unemployed person killing another unemployed person does not solve the problem, has no value and is senseless! But two unemployed people putting their heads together to try to earn some honest  money does have value. Think About it! Oh well, got to go….I have said waaaaaaaaaaaay too much already and I am sure People will be pissed off with me for writing this.  :(.   But, either way, have a blessed day!

  3. Hi Stella, my name is Mel Blackman and I am the Founder of a developing organization known as THE BURNING HOUSE PROJECT, INC in New York. Someone just sent me your statement on “Rioting and Free Shopping” because they know that you and I are of like mind on this subject. I do media interviews on TV, radio and in print and every chance I get I speak about the same exact issue. It bothers me to no end how overwhelming attention is paid to urban killings only when it involves the police or someone White. These occurrences do happen, but they are so immensely rare to the REGULAR mass murder we inflict on our very own. As you know, that ratio is extremely lopsided. I would like it if you would contact me and we can share our thoughts on this issue. Thank you. Respectfully, Mel Blackman E-mail- and T. 917-753-5858

I agree with you 1,000 percent, Stella. I am far more concerned when I’m over east in South Shore (and other black neighborhoods on the South Side) about getting shot or robbed by a “brother” – especially a young one – than I am about getting shot or abused by any policeman, black or white.

Older black people know how to act in the presence of police to avoid being shot – which is basically to do whatever they say, with a “Yes, Officer” behind it, whether you think it’s being a punk or not. It’s saving your life, is what it is.

But now in the hood, there’s no more sitting in the car talking with a friend for more than a minute, for fear of being jacked, and there’s the reality than anyone can be hit by randomly flying bullets at any point.

I understand the frustration with Ferguson and Trayvon, but my concerns about the safety of my teenage children and myself are a little bit closer to home.

Keep speaking up for what’s right and telling it like it is, Stella in the city!
